Read on to find out more!
Where is the AT&T Pro-Am tournament played?
The AT&T Pro-Am tournament is played across three courses in the Monterey Peninsula, Pebble Beach Golf Links, Spyglass Hill Golf Course, and Monterey Peninsula Country Club: Shore Course.
Pebble Beach Golf Links
Described as one of the most beautiful courses in the world, Pebble Beach Golf Links hugs the rugged coastlines of Carmel Bay, overlooking the Pacific Ocean.
Six-time host of the U.S. Open Championship, Pebble Beach is set to host eight future U.S. Open Championships, including their first Women’s U.S. Open Championship later this year.
Spyglass Hill Golf Course
Rated as one of the toughest courses in the world and taking its name from the Stevenson classic Treasure Island, Spyglass Hill also has sweeping ocean views.
Unlike Pebble Beach, however, Spyglass Hill combines the earth and sea, featuring both the Del Monte Forest and the Pacific oceanfront views.
Monterey Peninsula Country Club: Shore Course
Featuring fairways that pitch and roll that blend seamlessly into the topography of the landscape, like Spyglass Hill, Monterey Peninsula Country Club: Shore Course combines ocean views and natural greenery, including native grasses and Cypress trees.
It re-entered the rotation of the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am in 2010 after it last co-hosted in 1977.
Who is playing in the AT&T Pro-Am tournament?
The AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am features a selection of both professional and celebrity players, including returning 2022 champion Tom Hoge who beat three-time major winner golfer Jordan Spieth. Third-place Beau Hossler also returns, described as a true prodigy.
Alongside professionals, some celebrities choose to take part in the tournament. Notable players this year include:
· Ex-professional footballer Gareth Bale
· Actor and comedian Bill Murray
· Rap star Macklemore
· 2015 Miss America Kira K. Dixon, and
· American football quarterback Aaron Rodgers.
Who does the AT&T Pro-Am tournament help raise money for?
Originally held in 1947, Bill Crosby invited a group of friends together for some golf, and a clambake to raise some money for local charities in the Central Coast region in California.
From then, the tournament was born.
Now, as the stars and professionals have got bigger and better, so have the charitable donations achieved in support of the Monterey Peninsula Foundation.
In 2022, the Monterey Peninsula Foundation will reach a fundraising milestone among PGA TOUR Tournaments- surpassing $200 million in charitable contributions.
